UScellular announces Black History Month Art Contest winners
UScellular has announced the winners of its fifth annual Black History Month Art Contest with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley, according to a news release.

Public voting for the finalists’ art was available online. There were 383 votes cast for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley artists. The winning artists from each club were awarded gift cards:
- Norah Bley, 9 – $250 for first place – Marie Maynard Daly portrait
- Connor Taylor, 8 – $150 for second place – Stephon Alexander artwork
- Gloria Fagla, 10 – $100 for third place – Marie Maynard Daly creation.
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley members were encouraged to create original pieces of artwork that represent influential Black STEM icons. These included historical figures, world leaders, scientists and educators who have made vital contributions to the world of science, technology, engineering and math.
Local UScellular and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor leaders selected the 10 finalists based on creativity, quality, interpretation, clarity of theme and overall impression. Public voting for the finalists was available online Feb. 1-15. The finalists’ artwork was digitally displayed at three UScellular locations in the Quad Cities.
